{"id":5655,"date":"2024-04-15T19:51:44","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T16:51:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peptiko.gr\/?p=5655"},"modified":"2024-04-16T09:24:51","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T06:24:51","slug":"helicobacter-pylori-stool-antigen-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peptiko.gr\/en\/helicobacter-pylori-stool-antigen-test\/","title":{"rendered":"Helicobacter pylori stool antigen test: Procedure"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><em>Helicobacter pylori<\/em> stool antigen test: Procedure<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure tests, specimens, buffer, and\/or controls are at room temperature (15-30\u00b0C) prior to testing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Specimen Collection and Pre-treatment:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Using Specimen Dilution Tubes:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Utilize the specimen dilution tubes provided in the test kit for collection.<\/li>\n<li>Aim to perform the assay within 6 hours after collection for best results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specimen Handling:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the dilution tube applicator carefully to avoid spilling or splattering.<\/li>\n<li>Collect specimens by inserting the applicator stick into at least three different sites of the feces to gather approximately 50 mg (equivalent to 1\/4 of a pea).<\/li>\n<li>Reinsert the applicator into the tube and securely tighten the cap, ensuring not to break the tip of the tube.<\/li>\n<li>Vigorously shake the specimen dilution tube to mix the specimen with the extraction buffer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Testing Procedure:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Test Setup:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the <em>H. pylori<\/em> Ag test cassette from its sealed pouch and place it on a clean, level surface.<\/li>\n<li>Label the test cassette with patient or control identification.<\/li>\n<li>Perform the assay within one hour for optimal results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specimen Application:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Use a tissue paper to break the tip of the dilution tube.<\/li>\n<li>Hold the tube vertically and dispense 2 drops of the solution into the specimen well (S) of the test cassette, avoiding air bubbles and not allowing the solution to enter the result window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Observation and Results:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Observe as the test operates and color moves along the membrane.<\/li>\n<li>Read the result at 10 minutes; do not interpret results after 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Note:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>If the specimen does not migrate due to the presence of particles, centrifuge the extracted specimens.
